THIS COMPANY IS FULL OF PROFESSIONAL CROOKS

We have had a horrible experience with this company. It began when we first moved into one of their rental properties, we were promised that things would be repaired and taken care of before we moved in and nothing was done. After being ignored and having to make multiple calls and emails we finally got some things taken care of. The company actually told us they paid one of their guys to do the stuff and it wasn't done. Then we found out there was a leak in the wall and behind it was full of mold. And the entire house was infested with roaches and gnats. I must have killed 13 roaches in a day at one point. Then because of the unlivable conditions of the house the owner agreed to let us terminate the lease. So we moved out and deep cleaned the entire house and they still kept $877 of our $1000 deposit. And what for you might ask....for having to replace burnt out light bulbs and to clean the house and replace ceiling tiles (that they already replaced). Then when we call them to ask for an itemized receipt for what all the charges are for, it takes forever to get someone on the phone then they tell us we have to email a dispute to see if we can get some of our deposit back. This company is horrible to have to deal with. Avoid them at all costs. DO NOT USE THEM!!!! They will steal your money and you will be going through a nightmare dealing with them.

This company refused to return my $1850 security deposit for a rental home that was handed over to them at the conclusion of my lease. The home was professionally cleaned and landscaped at my expense. After months of being ignored, we gave up. My advice do NOT rent from them unless you are 100% okay with forfeiting your security deposit for no reason.

I have been a client of Suncove Realty for 8 years and I am here to say that I could not be happier. I have seen a lot of complaints and people get mad about refunds, application fees and rejections. Its time to wake up people! These homes are managed by Suncove but not owned by them, they belong to people just like you and I and facilitate the rental and do a lot of work for the landlord and the tenant. Realize that their service is free to you as you are paying market rent prices and the landlord pays their minimal fee out of the rents that are collected. 1. If you don't leave the home in at least the same condition that you found it you will be charged a reasonable fee to remedy the deficiency. 2. The Landlord has the final say in approving or rejecting all applications, they don't turn you down just for nothing. You may have the income and the deposit but if here is something in your background check you will most likely be rejected. I am not an employee or have been hired to write this review, I am just one of their clients. There are always two sides to every story, God gave us 2 ears and one mouth we must listen twice as much as we talk.

Lovely Lake House Retreat!!

My Family relocated from Sydney, Australia and needed short-term accommodation whilst our home was being built in Odessa, Florida. The lake house was exactly what we were looking for; a comfortable 'home' environment, in a relaxing/quiet neighbourhood with all the necessary amenities. Our landlords Mike and Pat were so accommodating to our needs, responsive to our queries and returned our bond within the week of hand-over. We are so very grateful as this short-term rental made the past few months stress-free; with tranquil views of the lake, a children's bedroom filled with toys (every 4 year old's dream!!) and a large, open kitchen/dining area to unwind after a full-days work. We highly recommend this lovely lake house and the first-rate landlords from Sun Cove Realty. Thank you - Greg, Jill and Dakota

Move out 3/31 and 4 months later I still have not received my deposit refund I am due, just bad customer service and the run around.

RENTER BEWARE:They have a low BBB score for a reason! Believe it and run the other way!!

If you look further the only reason it isn't lower is because of how long they've been legally robbing people, excuse me, in business...

*Communication is horrible, no follow-up or follow through (I am sure if I owed them money their communication would be 100 percent) - Most of the time the phone # goes to a voicemail.

*Customer Service is even worse.The so called property manager is extremely frustrating to deal with, she doesn't appear to be very well educated and this could be b/c she has horrible listening skills)

*Employees do not seem to know what is going on beyond the basics. ( I think they're just trained to answer phones and cannot answer even the most basic questions without a long hold. Of course that's if you're lucky enough to get someone on the phone)

*Unprofessional staff - They're nice at first glance but don't ask a "hard" question they don't know the answer to or that requires research, then the attitude really comes out!!

Moved in - March 2010 *House was clean/new carpet & paint. Refrigerator full of roach eggs (gross). It was replaced approx 2 weeks later by a strange guy at 9:00 pm. (weird)

Over the years I dealt with the so called property manager who is EXTREMELY RUDE and has very poor customer service skills. Not only does she continuously speak over me but continues to repeat herself even when a completely different question is asked. (maybe because she was too busy talking and didn't hear the NEW question). I've asked several times where I can send my complaint to about the horrible customer service and she (with attitude) says send it to me I handle ALL complaints. Yeah, okay?!?

03/2014 - I was so happy to leave that I forgot to provide my forwarding address. It was left empty with no trash or debris left behind. The refrigerator/freezer/cabinets bathrooms were all cleaned out. And I took many pictures to document this.

4/23 - Emailed about deposit and was told the deposit/claim letter was mailed on 4/11 to the last known address. I provided new address in case it was returned. I was unaware of and was not told there was a tracking number associated with the letter. I was told just to wait....

4/30 - I called and was told again just to continue to wait. It wasn't until I pressed for more info that I was given the tracking number! (ridiculous and frustrating) Apparently, they do not believe in first call resolution.

5/2 - I located my letter at a local post office. Which to my surprise DID NOT contain a check but a claim letter with a bunch of ridiculous claims...such as carpet cleaning fee (we were there 4 years and it was cleaned every year and only had normal wear and tear. Plus I'm sure the carpet was replaced for their next tenant anyway so they pocketed $180). Also, $125 for cleaning fee -_-... it was cleaned as stated above AND I'm sure any landlord would clean a place between tenants anyway, and $90 for pest control which I'm sure they didn't pay... So basically they want their tenants to get the place ready for the next person without them having to pay anything!! unheard of...they will not provide receipts or invoice showing above services were performed, probably b/c there's deception here. But whatever not worth my time just give me what you "claim" you owe me.

5/15 - Sent my dispute letter which was received on May 16th. It included my disputes as well as my NEW married name to make the check out too and the address to forward the check which is a P O Box my husband and I share.

6/17 - I email AGAIN because I have not heard or seen anything from them. The reply states it was returned to them. That's strange b/c I receive EVERYTHING ELSE! I received No call/email, nothing. If I never inquired I would never have known. I then gave a physical address to them. Which they claim it was sent out that day!

6/24 - I emailed AGAIN the mail time from Tampa to Tampa is 1 business day. Clearly it doesn't take a week. I was told that they emailed me a copy of what was returned to them along with their response to my dispute on 6/17/14, WHICH OF COURSE I NEVER RECEIVED. Wait so...I haven't received what you mailed AND emailed (something seems fishy here) Probably b/c they're lying at least about the email on 6/17/14!... So now I'm livid!! Of course the so called property manager is no help as she again just repeats herself then hangs up when I won't just accept her general, glossed over, uneducated response. So I call, and call, and call, and call. I am repeatedly hung up on until they called the authorities. LOL!! I knew what i was doing was petty BUT at this point who wouldn't be completely frustrated and down right livid. If anything I did get some satisfaction to know that they were just as aggravated as I was. (they would p/u the phone and sign Christmas songs which I enjoyed and hung up)

Come to find out the genius who sent the check completely ignored the dispute letter or perhaps didn't read it b/c it clearly has my MARRIED name. Hence, the reason why it was RETURNED BY USPS.

7/26 - It has now been 4 months and all I want is the $159 they claim was left from my deposit. The rest of the money I will count as a loss b/c I'm exhausted from dealing with them. WORSE EXPERIENCE WITH A RENTAL COMPANY!

We are going through the exact same thing. We lived in the house 3 years.

Did everything Sun Cove asked on the move out list including professional carpet cleaning with receipt provided. They are still withholding $200 for carpet cleaning. Also, $150 for 'light cleaning' which is clearly illegal. Oh, and $60 for a light bulb among other things that were noted as 'broke' in the pre-move inspection.

We left that house move in ready, and have very clear pictures to prove it. We are filling with consumer protection agency, Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation and the BBB.

I wish more people would do the same because there are clearly enough complaints on the internet. More people need to pursue action so they cannot continue to rob tenants of their security deposits.

Sun Cove Realty - Leasing Deposit Review from Riverview, Florida

Finished my lease out on 8/31 it's 10/13 still waiting for my deposit. I've never recieved information about where my deposit is and what account and whether it is collecting interest.

When u call the company, they get annoyed and never give u a straight answer.

The entire office is rude and hateful. How does this place stay in business?

Same here. We have an AC unit that is completely busted.

Their HVAC contractor is in complete denial of what's wrong with the system, and is blaming us for trying to keep the house too cold.

Office manager is patronizing and hates being bothered. They’re a complete joke.

I took this company to court and won. Almost a year later this company refuses to pay the court order to refund my security deposit and court cost.

I think its time to take matters to a higher level. I am so tired of seeing all the comments about how this company rips off hard working people.

Do not hold your breathe on waiting for your security deposit. I took this company to court and was awarded payment for the full return of my security deposit along with the court fees.

It has been almost 9 months now and this companies "Office Manager" Jennifer Woods still refuses to cooperate with court orders to return my security deposit.

This woman should be fired as she is making this company look really bad. I would advise everyone - Do not use this company!

Court will do you no good. I took this company to court - was awarded full payment along with court fees and they still refuse to pay.

It has been 9 months since I moved out of their property.

Jennifer Woods the Office Manager has no customer service skills and is the worst person I have ever had to deal with. She is extremely rude and unprofessional.

Application rejection - $120

Our application was instantly and rejected without an investigation. Why? Because we owned our own home for 15 years and had no rental history. That is it, without a rental history we got instantly rejected. The mere fact that no one in the office would even consider talking to us about options was bad enough, but the mere fact that everyone in the office we spoke to were amazingly rude. I told my wife about the experience so she called too. Her experience was even worse than mine. She finally got a hold of an office manager after asking to speak with a manager for quite some time and being told "the manager is going to tell you the same thing LADY". The manager got on the phone after my wife was on hold for almost 1/2 hour. When the manager did get on the phone she asked my wife why she was holding up there phone lines for so long. $120 down the drain with not a drop of empathy or customer service. I would highly recommend not using these people.

We had an appointment to view a house to rent at 6:00pm and the realtor never showed or called. 6:30 we called them and they said it had been leased that afternoon.

THANKS A BUNCH For WASTING OUR TIME! Follow up and Follow Thru definitely lacking.

It just took a phone call, but they don't care. RUN PEOPLE RUN!

Rent Review

I was happy that they took our application fee and denied to rent to us at all after reading these reviews. They did us a favor, it seems. They will not rent to us, even though we qualify in every way imaginable, because we do not have a rental history. We have always owned out home. The people in the office were extremely rude and unprofessional. I was actually yelled at by Jennifer Wood- the office manager- for tying up their phone lines because they had placed me on hold for so long! I would NOT reccommend this company!!!

Interested Renter

I am currently in the process of looking for a new rental to move into and came across the ideal perfect home for our growing family listed by Sun Cove Realty. Being that rentals come and go so quickly, you think you have to be quick to jump on the rental to assure that you secure the property. I e-mailed Sun Cove Realty and ended up doing some research and came across this website with absolute terrible reviews. Boy am I glad I read this information prior to committing myself and my family to such company. There is not one single good review to read about Sun Cove Realty. Although I did not personally do business with them, but the e-mail I received was very pushy and they seem to only be concerned about their "application fee" being paid immediately rather than showing the property to an interested renter. I would suggest staying away from this company and their pushy employees.

Awful company

We had them as our property management company for our house we rented out. They charged us $80 to replace 1 lightbulb. After that we advised they are not to do anything to our house without our permission. They are unresponsive to say the least. We have had numerous issues with them. The only person there that did respond and get things taken care of is Jan. Unfortunately when we decided to sell our house we had to try to sell our house through them otherwise we would have to have paid them a fee. Toby was awful. He didn't even tell us the water and electric were off. He never sent us pictures of the condition of the home. He never sent us updates. Once his 3 month contract was we immediately got rid of Toby and Sun cove and got a new realtor. Our house was listed for 3 days with the new company and it sold. Fo not use them for property management or selling your home. They will give you a headache!! They also charged the renters for work not done. When we finally got pictures of the house. I saw they never replaced a shelf that they claimed they did, and they had charged the renters for it. Rightly so to charge the renters because they took or broke the shelf, but it's not right to charge them and NOT replace it!

Poor to no communication from company

My roommate and I have had a terrible experience with suncove. The people that work there are incredibly rude and non responsive. I called on multiple occasions and never received a phone call or email. I had to constantly call over and over again just to be transferred to voicemail. The only helpful person that works there is in the office. Her name is Angie. She is sweet and helpful. We did not renew our lease due to the fact of poor communication between our landlord, us, and suncove. After moving, we had a chunk of money taken out of our deposit for "cleaning" the two small rooms that had carpet. Absolutely ridiculous! We only improved the place by patching up holes and hanging the utility door. I cannot stand this company! I will never again rent with any place associated with the name suncove! Very disappointed.

Suncove are Crooks

This is the Worst Company ever!!! We moved in March 1st, 2012 and had Suncove cut the grass prior to moving in. Whoever they sent broke 2 sprinkler heads and than refused to fix them. I called office several times to only leave messages. We paid to fix their mistake to avoid any issues with our deposit. Then the Friday before Easter our sewer pump light had came on which was causing our toilets to flush slow and back up at times. I called office and was told by the girl who answered that it was not an emergency and transferred me to the repair department to leave a message. I left several over that course of weekend. No return call. Sunday all our toilets went out and we could not flush!!! We finally called homeowner who had to send someone to do Suncove's job. Upon moving in there was no walk in done like I asked. They refused to drive 45 mins to the house. They say a walk in is done prior but I worked for rental company and always did a walk in with my new tenants. They make you drive to them to sign lease and get keys on their time. The last is they are liars and crooks. In August, they called me at 4 pm on a friday claiming they never got our rent. Which comes out automatically from our bank. They rattled off $135 of late charges that needed to be paid that day by 5 or we be charged $18 on top a day. They were closing in one hour and not opened on weekend. In that one hour I had to get certified funds and drive 45 mins. I verified with my bank the rent was sent. I rushed down to pay. When I got there I was informed everyone was late or there checks were not clearing and "Jerry" laughed about it. Hmmm, cant be eveveryone. After paying rent, that next day on Saturday we came home to an eviction notice on door. Saying we had 3 days to pay or move out. Of course there is no number to call so we had to wait til Monday to speak with someone. On Monday, they said it must of got crossed with our payment. But I find it humourous that this office could drive to put an invalid eviction on our door but never for anything else.January rent. Bank released check dec 31. With holiday being the 1st and closed with no mail, "Jerry" sends an email our check was received on the 7th and they once again are trying to get late fees. I asked sseveral times for a copy of the envelope it came in so I can verify the mailing date. No response. I was told in an email that our check was a partial payment because of no late fees and that they will not accept it. I called the homeowner and being as aggravated with them as us they called them and told them to process rent with no late fees. I received an email again from Suncove that the homeowner has NO say in late charges and that they are sending our rent back. We have until the 4th before late . It is only one day in mail to get there so I have a hard time believing it took 5 days to get there! I firmly believe this company preys on their tenants for extra pocket money. They do not tell homeowner that they are collecting extra money and pocket it! None goes to the homeowner. This company holds checks til the 7th and sometimes even the 10th before cashing and sends all rent on 15th. So our check getting there prior to that should not be an issue. We have been here almost a year and never late! They should take in consideration holidays and no mail. They also do not work with their tenants or homeowners. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I plan on taking this company to court.

for over 2 years they havent fixed *** in the house i rented only the grass .then the pipe broke last year of the sprinkler system.they havent fixed it and had a leak in the ceiling they havent fixed it mildew in the grouting anf caulking im not going to use my water on the grass until they fix the pipes.they sent an inspecter last year i showed them the damages nothing

My husband and I will be moving soon and we consulted with Sun Cove. The person we dealt with (Shelly) was extremely pushy when we expressed interest in a home.

We were looking at several homes with different agents but when we chose one of their properties, we wanted to see it one more time before making our final decisiion. Then, it suddenly became an urgent situation where we were told we seemed "undecided" and that there were other people lined up who really wanted the property and who were willing to pay a deposit within 24 hours, and that their properties go really fast. My husband and I just didn't feel right about it and definitely didn't appreciate her pressure tactics. We were not going to be bullied into an expensive, long-term, commitment so we told them we were not going to rent the house.

After that, we heard from our current landlord that Sun Cove was horrible. He even told us that Shelly was "a real piece of work" when she called to verify our current rental.

Then we saw all of the complaints about them out on the web. So glad we didn't make a huge mistake.

Application Scam

I paid $300.00 in application fees to be denied the rental. Suncove Realty received a very good review from our property manager and had no reason to deny us this home. When I called them to inquire about it, I was told the property manager gave them a bad review!!! LIES!!!! Just think of the amount of money this so called company is making on middle class people like myself!!!. I urge anyone looking to buy or rent STAY AWAY FROM SUN COVE!!!!! they are SCAM ARTISTS !!!!! Eric Green I don't know how you can look at your criminal face in the mirror EVERY DAY. This is not OVER!!!! I will be contacting the BBB and Keep your on Bay News 9.
